We believe above all....safety comes first! Every student, boarder, leaser and trainer are required to wear an astm-sei certified helmet (provided at facility), long pants and proper heeled boots. Ivy rock believes that riders of all abilities and disciplines achieve the greatest benefits from the consistency in their lessons. We provide professional and qualified instructors, volunteers and horses for our riders. We serve a significant number of riders each week, and take great efforts to find time slots that best meet their needs. As a result, we ask all our riders to make a commitment to attend their lessons for each session that they enroll in and follow the general lesson policies of the stable.

Ivy rock's lesson program is designed for individuals of all ages, wanting to learn and further develop their horsemanship skills in environment that is safe, comfortable and supportive. While you can ride daily or once a month, the majority of students attend a private or group lesson once a week. The lesson develops at a pace tailored for the rider(s) and teach a broad range of equitation skills from the basics of all 3 gaits, to beginning techniques of western horsemanship, trail, jumping, dressage, driving, or pleasure. Students ride a wide assortment of horses of different breeds, so they become familiar with and understand the differences each new mount presents. Included with the horsemanship skills acquired, students are encouraged to learn how to bathe and clip horses, clean and care for tack, and for more advanced students longe horses. We do offer trail lessons and gaming lessons to break the routine of regular lessons. As with any riding program there can be height and weight restrictions depending on type of lesson, rider ability and horse availability.

We also offer therapeutic lessons throughout the year. Our certified instructor is available for individual lessons.

Lesson Prices

Weekly Standing Lesson Students Discount

Private standing lessons will be charged at the beginning of each month at a discounted rate. $50 for 30min private and $75 for an hour private. Payment must be made by the first lesson of the month. Riders must take at least 4 lessons a month to receive this discount. This not only will guarantee your spot and instructor, it will also help with our horse use tracking and scheduling. NOTE: Monthly lessons will not carry over to the next month. Discount does not apply for semi-privates or g

Private Lessons

All new students under 10yrs old (except for Pony Ride Lessons) must take the Intro Lesson which will go over all safety and horse basics as well as riding.

Pony Ride

This lesson is geared toward children 5 and under. Child will be able to groom their pony and ride for 10 minutes. If your child would like to continue riding it is $1 a minute. Maximum time allowed is 20 minutes.

Horsemanship Lessons (Unmounted)

Are you looking to build a relationship with a horse outside of riding? This is a hands-on horsemanship session. Great for all ages including adults and even young tots (with assistance from a guardian). 30min sessions $40.

Intro Lesson - ALL NEW STUDENTS

This 45-50 minute lesson with introduce riders to the farm and get them situated with the right mount. We also discuss goals and help steer student in the direction to best achieve those goals. This session includes time handling and grooming.

30 Minute Private

Students must arrive a minimum of 10 minutes early to get themselves and horse ready for lesson. Late arrivals will take away from ride time. These lessons are ideal for young riders just getting started or riders with limited time available but can warm up and cool down on their own.

60 Minute Private

Saddle time is key in progressing with riding. These sessions are a great workout and really go by quickly. Get the most out of riding and see the change when you spend an hour in the saddle.

Semi-Private or Group Lesson

Students must arrive a minimum of 10 minutes early to get themselves and horse ready for lesson. Late arrivals or lengthy grooming will take away from ride time

60 Minute Semi-Private

This session is for 2 riders with similar abilities. Instructors must approve riders. This lesson is a great compliment to private lessons. Get more saddle time in for less.

60 Minute Group

Learn to Ride Packages

Are you looking to get into riding but don't know where to start? These packages are ideal for beginner riders ; children or adults. Sessions will consist of unmounted hands on horsemanship and riding.

Pony lover package

This package consists of 4 - 50min sessions. Perfect for students 7 years old and younger. (Savings of $50)

Beginner package

This package consists of 6 - 60min sessions. This is the most popular package for new riders. (Savings of $90)

Learn to ride - basics

This package is geared towards the busy adult rider that just wants basic skills to be safe and comfortable on a horse. It consists of 3 - 60min sessions (Can be done in one weekend with 2 rides on 1 day). (Savings of $45)

Trail Lessons or Gaming Lessons

When weather permits we do offer lessons on our trails. All trail lessons are at the discretion of the instructor. Riders will be teamed up with appropriate mount and given instructions in the arena. If riders are in control of their horse and can safely head out on the trail the instructor will guide them out and continue the lesson. If any rider is unsafe to head out the instructor will continue the lesson in the arena as an obstacle/gaming lesson.

90 Minute Semi-Private Trail/Gaming

This lesson is great for couples looking to do something different. You will spend approximately 15-20min in the arena getting basic instruction before heading out on the trails for about an hour. Price is per person.

2hr Group Trail/Gaming

This lesson is great for riders with some experience. You will spend approximately 30min in the arena getting comfortable before heading out on the trails.
